Why do People Move?
To hunt more prey.
To grow more crops.
To transport more things.
To reach inspiring places more quickly and comfortably.
Seeking to accomplish their dreams and wishes,
people have continued to move since ancient times.
Even in an age when technology has developed
to the point where people can easily and instantly
connect to the other side of the world from their own homes,
people will never stop “moving.”
Impulse to Move
Research has shown that people are genetically predisposed to derive happiness from the act of moving.
Brain imaging analysis has also revealed that when people experience happiness through moving to a place they have never been to before, areas of the brain related to memory and motivation are stimulated and performance is enhanced.
The Kawasaki Group believes that there is an innate “Impulse to Move” imprinted in our DNA from which we seek to realize happiness.
We also believe that this Impulse to Move has inspired the creation of various forms of mobility, which in turn have driven the development of civilization itself.
Based on the theme Impulse to Move,
the Kawasaki Group showcased sustainability that moves and inspires people,
things and minds at the 2025 World Exposition (Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan).

The Kawasaki Group has been providing society with mobility on land, sea and air for over 125 years, including Shinkansen trains, LPG (liquefied petroleum gas)/ammonia carriers, and helicopters.
From our start as the manufacturer of Japan’s first-ever industrial robot, we continue to expand the use of robots not only in factories, but also in restaurants, medical facilities, and other areas.
Another area of focus is hydrogen, which is essential if we are to achieve carbon neutrality. In addition to building a hydrogen supply chain, from production to distribution, we lead the world in creating hydrogen-powered mobility solutions throughout society.
Combining the very best of the Kawasaki Group’s technologies we have realized sustainable mobility that embodies the Impulse to Move.

Future World
Driving force for a prosperous society
The venue concept is "Kawasaki Future World," presented by the "Impulse to Move Lab." A space designed to resemble a laboratory where genius scientists are developing sustainable mobility solutions that stimulate people's Impulse to Move were created at the Yumeshima Expo site and also virtually.
In this space, visitors were able to “see” and “touch” full-scale mobility of the future in an enjoyable hands-on experience that will inspire great hope for the society of the future.

The Kawasaki Group showcased mobility of the future in "Future Life Expo: Future City."
During Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, in addition to the physical venue, a virtual venue titled “VIRTUAL EXPO ~YUMESHIMA ISLANDS IN THE SKY~” was also presented.
Visitors were able to create their own avatars and enter the world of the virtual Expo, where they experienced exhibitions and events unique to a digital environment.
Within this virtual venue, the Kawasaki Group presented the “Impulse to Move Lab,” an area designed to provide a deeper understanding of the mobility concepts showcased by the Group at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.Through immersive experiences, the Lab introduced aspects that could not be fully conveyed at the physical venue alone, including the precise movements of mobility systems and carefully refined technologies.
On this website, the “Impulse to Move Lab” has been recreated. Here, visitors can explore the future of mobility envisioned by the Kawasaki Group.

Concepts and ideas contained in the Impulse to Move logo
The aesthetic beauty of “linkage” woven by chromosomal DNA.
The “mass” of individuality that each person forms.
Just as there is fascination to be found in coalescing around the immutable rules of “Impulse” while “shining differently” every day, the design use “digital segments” that share a similar concept.
In the midst of monotony, the intervention of “Movement” causes a massive transformation, which here resembles a symbolic claw mark, recalling the silhouette of the character for “river” (川, “kawa”) that is a part of the name of the Kawasaki Group.
