As a solution amid ongoing labor shortages, social robots operate mountain huts. They include Nyokkey, which works using two arms, and FORRO, which is designed for autonomous delivery. They enable nighttime visits, which were difficult at conventional mountain huts, allowing users to expand their activity options.
The power for the mountain huts is supplied by an independent hydrogen power generation system. In addition to generating electricity, hydrogen is used to refill the hydrogen storage alloy canisters that fuel CORLEO. This supports CORLEO’s long-distance travel when it stops by for refueling.
An unmanned helicopter, K-RACER, is used to transport materials and fuel to the mountain lodges. Capable of transporting heavy cargo, flying long distances for extended periods, and maintaining reliable performance in strong wind conditions—areas where conventional drones have struggled—K-RACER can transport supplies even to rugged mountainous regions where entry by vehicles is impossible.
