In October 1966, Kawasaki Heavy Industries G.m.b.H.
(KHI Germany) was established in Dusseldorf. With a
population of about 600,000 and a location only 50
kilometers from the German-Dutch border in the Ruhr
industrial area of North Rhine-Westphalia (northwest
Germany), Dusseldorf is a European economic hub. Moreover,
it is the capital of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia,
which accounts for almost 1/4 of the trade between Japan
and Germany and receives more than 43% of Japan's direct
iinvestments in the country. At present, three German employees and four
assignees from Kawasaki Japan are working at the
Dusseldorf office, providing the Kawasaki group with
sales, marketing and information support. Our focus is on
industrial plants and machinery with energy-saving and
environment-protection applications.
Having just entered the 21st
century, we are working to both reinforce existing
business and actively develop new businesses,
particularly those related to the environment and non-traditional
energy sources such as solar energy and wind power. We
also plan to open new machinery procurement channels
awide geographic area, including Eastern Europe.
