ROOKIES LETTER

ENGLISH LESSON

We took weekly English lessons as one of 1st year employees’ education program. We studied English for about 5 months to achieve better results in the TOEIC exam.
The aim of this lesson was, of course, to get a better score in TOEIC and to grow interests in foreign cultures. We were divided in to two groups, one class for elementary level learners and the other class for intermediate level learners.
Now, we would like to introduce the difference between the two classes for you.
In the elementary class, a Japanese teacher taught us English by using both Japanese and English. We learned how to pronounce, listen, and read English correctly.
In the intermediate class, a native speaking teacher taught us how to communicate in English, and a Japanese teacher taught us English grammar for TOEIC. The native speaking teacher had a lot of topics, for example, about our weekend life, world affairs, and nice restaurants. The Japanese teacher gave us a lot of homework and taught us with intensity.
We are looking forward to receiving our TOEIC scores. The fluid power market is growing bigger and bigger now into the overseas market, so the necessity of studying English is getting higher. Even after we achieve that goal, we will keep on studying English to be full-fledged in business with our overseas customers in the future.
