Is re-entry possible after leaving the museum?

Re-entry is possible on the same day. Please show your ticket when re-entering.
Note: Transfer/reselling of a ticket to a third party is prohibited.

Can you take photos or videos at the museum?

Shooting photos and videos is permitted, but please make sure that you do not come in contact with the exhibits and that other guests are not discomforted. When taking or distributing selfies (photos or videos), please be especially careful not to infringe on other guests and their privacy rights.
For safety reasons, use of drones and other unmanned vehicles is prohibited.

Are there hands-on attractions?

The museum offers a variety of hands-on attractions that can be enjoyed by children and adults:
Motorcycle Gallery
This zone offers Kawasaki’s most iconic bikes and some of them are available to be touched and sat on, as well as the riding simulator “RidEX” where you can experience the thrill of speeding around a circuit.
Land Zone
Visitors can go inside an actual first car of the Series 0 Shinkansen and explore the passenger area and the cab. They can also operate the HO scale railroad diorama.
Sea Zone
Enjoy a personal watercraft game in this zone.
Air Zone
Go aboard an actual Kawasaki-Vertol KV-107II helicopter to explore the cabin area and cockpit. Visitors can also experience what it is like to be a pilot taking off from Kobe Airport, using a flight simulator.

Is it possible to book hands-on attractions in advance?

Advance booking is not possible, and the attractions are offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
The flight simulator in the Air Zone and the RidEX in the Motorcycle Gallery can be booked by speaking to the staff in the respective zones, who will then inform you of the time the attraction will be ready for you.

Is there a place to leave my belongings?

Lockers are available at the museum (a returnable deposit of 100 yen is required).

Does the museum provide barrier-free access?

The museum is so designed that persons in wheelchairs, the elderly, and children on strollers can enjoy the exhibits safely. A rental service for wheelchairs and strollers is available (free-of-charge for up to 2 wheelchairs and 2 strollers). Please place your request at the Information Counter on the first floor.

Are there special facilities available for babies?

The museum provides various facilities for visitors with babies and small children to ensure safety. There is a baby nursing room with a baby bed and a washbasin on the first floor.

Baby strollers can be used inside the museum. Rental strollers are also available. Because the number is limited, we would appreciate you bringing your own.

The museum is a non-smoking building and there are no areas reserved for smoking.

Do you have a parking space for cars/bicycles?

There is no parking space at the museum. If you are coming by car, please use paid parking nearby. The museum does not offer any discount services for these paid parking locations.

Pets are not permitted. Please also note that we cannot keep them for you while you visit the museum.

We do not offer guide services, but staff are present in each zone. Please feel free to ask them if you would like to know more about the exhibits.

We have English descriptions for each exhibit. (Brochures in English, Chinese, and Korean are available.)

If I show my Physical Disability Certificate/Rehabilitation Certificate/Mental Disability Certificate, would a reduced admission fee be available for my attendant?

Are there restaurants in the museum?

OCEAN PLACE (Western food) and The Ocean View Chinoise Gaen (Chinese) are located on the second floor of the Kobe Maritime Museum.
Note: The entrances to these restaurants are found outside the Kawasaki Good Times World.
There are also vending machines in the lounge (“Vending Machine Area”).

Please do not bring food or drinks to the museum. Only capped water bottles and plastic bottles are permitted.
