Shinkansen train (Series 500, JR)

Double-deck passenger car (Boston) |
Railways have been reevaluated as a means of energy-saving mass transportation as environmental problems become more severe. Since Japan first manufactured rolling stock in 1906, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., has built many trains whose names have gone down in the history of railways. Currently, Kawasaki is the largest manufacturer of rolling stock in Japan and has produced JR's world-famous Shinkansen trains, along with various others trains. Engineering across the whole spectrum of railway traffic systems is another area in which the company excels, along with its efforts to put safer, higher-performance trains in operation.
